This Indenture, made this 8th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight BETWEEN Susan M, McVicar of the City of Rochester, County of Monroe State of New York of the first part and Frederick Douglass of the same place.
WITNESSETH That the said party of the first part, in consideration of the sum of five hundred and ten dollars and sixty one cents, to her duly paid, has sold and b By these Presents do?? grant and convey to the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, All that Tract or Parcel of Land situate in the City of Rochester in the County of Monroe and State of New York, being part of lot number nineteen (19) in the third range of lots in township number thirteen (13), seventh range, bounded and described as follows: commencing in the west line of south avenue at the north east corner of lands now owned and occupied by Frederick Douglass, running thence westerly on the north line of said Douglass land to the southwest corner of lands now owned and occupied by the said Susan M. McVicar + thence northerly on the west line of lands owned and occupied by the said Susan M. McVicar fifty eight (58) feet, thence easterly on a straight line to a point in the west line of south avenue fifty five (55) feet northerly from the place of beginning, thence southerly on the said west line of south avenue to the place of beginning being a part of the premises conveyed to said Susan M. McVicar by Hannibal Congdon by deed dated February eighteenth, 1863, and recorded in Monroe County Clerks office in Liber 175 at page 270.
