Lower Gorge of the Genesee River
The purpose of this site is to make people aware of the historical significance of the Lower Gorge of the Genesee River. Included are geological history, important people and locations and significant events.
The Charlotte, Maplewood and Gorge East documents give general information on a walk from Charlotte along the west side of the river to the middle falls. Then crossing the Driving Park Bridge and returning to Charlotte along the east side of the Genesee.
The Plus documents contain additional and more in-depth information as well as links to other sites with supplemental information.
It is best to read the initial section to develop a background and then go through the Plus documents for an in depth look at areas of interest.
